First we thought about getting married in Abu Dhabi, but now in the end everything went completely the other way round. Instead of living in Germany and getting married here in the desert, we are living now in Abu Dhabi and celebrated our wedding in good old Germany on the beautiful countryside, called Sauerland.
In the end this was the right decision. We had a lovely and perfect day which could be better and more wonderful than it was.
Together with family and friends we spend a lovely day, ate, drunk, danced and enjoyed the time together.
As the wedding location we chose a barn and tried to keep the food simple and good. We didn’t want to serve something super fancy, however the quality was very important for us. We were very happy with the result at the end and chose the following as our wedding menu:
Yes , I know it’s all in German but it´s a pleasure for me to translate it for you 🙂
Salat with Raspberry dressing
Rumpsteak, pork filet with peppersauce, potatoes, fresh aspargus, beans, herb butter, sauce hollandaise etc.
Fresh salmon in lemon sauce, fresh salads and tagliatelle
Chicken breast sweet and sour with butter rice
Vanilla Ice cream with fresh strawberries and lemon creme
Drinks: assorted wines
For the wedding cake we thought about something similar. We wanted a nice and beautiful one and got one which looked super amazing and tasted great and super delicious. And who could bake a better wedding cake than our friends and awesome food blogger Torsten and Sasha from Die Jungs Kochen und backen?
They prepared a beautiful “naked cake” with a super pretty flower decoration and fresh berries.
Amazing and sooooo YUMMMMMMY!
We were really happy with the result and thank both of the so much! It was exactly what we wanted.
By the way, we served the cake already after church around 4.30 PM together with champagne and the reception ceremony. After this we did the photo shooting, talked to our beloved ones and then went forward with the dinner buffet at around 7 PM.
As mentioned already we didn’t serve the food at the table and arranged a BBQ Buffet with the above mentioned things, such as great beef and pork, fish, vegetables and salads.
It was a colorful mixture of beautiful and yummy things.
At the end it was a perfect combination of a wonderful rustic location on the countryside, amazing and fresh made food, meat which was hunted directly in the close neighborhood and assorted wines from well known German regions. The cake was handmade and just lovely! For us it was a wonderful day with wonderful food in a wonderful location.
Thanks to everybody who was part of it and made it that fabulous as it was.
Thanks so much!
