Oh yes, sure!!!!!
Since we live in Abu Dhabi, we totally fell in love with Manakeesh which is kind of an Arabic bread and its so super tasty!

Since Tim and I don’t see each other very often on the weekends because of my shift work, we enjoy every second we can spend together. This weekend we had a wonderful breakfast in bed with a tasty chocolate Manakeesh. It was super yummy and such a beautiful breakfast!

Apropos Manakeesh, I think a lot of you guys ask yourself what is actually a Manakeesh. Manakeesh, or manaqish, manaeesh or manakish or also man’ousheh (Arabic: مناقيش‎‎ manāqīsh;) is a traditional Arabic food which is made traditionally with thyme, cheese, or meat . You can eat it like pizza, cut into pieces or eat it in so many different ways to breakfast, lunch or dinner. The most known Manaqish is the Arabic Manqūshah. Here in Abu Dhabi it’s also known as Saj. So you known it’s a super cool dish with tons of variations and different tastes.
We want to show you today the sweet variation and we hope you like it as much as we do.
Instead of baking the bread by ourselves we bought it at the supermarket as its really cheap and freshly baked here from the bakery next door. But if you like to bake it yourself we attached a few recipe links below.

What you need for 2 chocolate Manakeesh:

  • 2 Tannuri bread
  • 4 tbsp Nutella or Chocolate Sauce
  • 1 Banana
  • A little bit of Cinnamon

Instructions:
As written above it’s super duper easy to prepare if you already got the bread from your baker or the supermarket. Just cut the banana into pieces and move it to the side. Heat the pan on a low level and give the bread into a very big pan. Now add the Nutella and banana. Fold it together from all sides as seen on the pictures and turn it around. Please have a look that you don’t wait to long as the bread gets otherwise too hard and then you are unable to fold it.

Afterwards get it out of the pan and add some banana slices, chocolate sauce or Nutella and cinnamon on top and enjoy the beautiful and yummylicious dish! It’s amazing 🙂
