Business Lunch @ Spaccanapoli

by

Last week we went for a lunch break at Spaccanapoli, which is an Italian Restaurant at Crowne Plaza, in Abu Dhabi’s city center.

As soon you enter the restaurant you feel already a little bit like in “Bella Italia.”
The venue is not very big but it’s very cosy and nice. To see if the food is really authentic, I brought my Italian friend Chiara as well with me, who is originally from Rome.

The Business Lunch offer at Spaccanapoli is great, as the selection of food is quiet big and the price is more than affordable for the amount of food you get. You can either choose the offer for 45 AED which includes one main menu and a drink or go for the 75 AED option which includes the soup of the day, antipasti, your main dish and a desert or coffee.

Chiara and me went for the second option and have to say that this was definitly the right choice.
We started with the soup of the day, a yummy pumpkin soup and went then over for the antipasti buffet.
From mini mozzarella, peppers, arrancini, olives, mussels, etc. to salads, tuna and so on. You could really find everything you can imagine. For me especially the mentioned mussels, the mozzarella and the shrimps and risotto were absolutely amazing.

After this we went on with our main course. Chiara chose the steak and I chose linguine with tomato sauce and seafood.
I liked the pasta a lot to be honest. It was al dente, fresh and had an amazing taste. Together with fresh shredded parmesan cheese on top it was just pretty amazing.
Also Chiara’s Steak was very delicious and the meat very, very soft.

To end this lovely lunch break we shared the chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream, which was in the end actually to good to share, hehehe! So we needed 2 espresso macchiato es well before we went home.

To sum up, this restaurant is the right place for everybody who works close by and wants to get a delicious meal for a great price. The food was very fresh and tasty an the price is really amazing for this quality you get!

It is not the most modern place in town, but this isn’t also what you need to enjoy Italian food a la mama, isn’t it?

So my friend Chiara and me definitly gonna visit again soon and try their pizza as well. Yummmy!
